Who Am I? Justin Palanci is an Assistant Research Program Coordinator for the Clinical Research Program of the NIH-funded Morris K. Udall Parkinson’s Disease Research Center (PDRC) at Johns Hopkins. He graduated from Emory University in 2006 with an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. In September, 2006, He joined PNI, where he works under the supervision of Dr. Laura Marsh. He assists with clinical research studies of Parkinson’s disease, including the PDRC’s longitudinal study of Parkinson's disease and healthy controls (now in its 6th year of follow-up), its brain donation program, and several clinical trials. He is a research assistant for a clinical drug trial of memantine for the treatment of executive dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease coordinated by Melissa Gerstenhaber, and for a research study looking at depression detection in Parkinson’s disease, coordinated by Elaina Hirsch. In addition, Justin's responsibilities are to coordinate and implement study protocols, schedule and coordinate participant visits, administer neuropsychological batteries to study participants, perform data entry and uphold the integrity of the database, and perform administrative duties associated with the clinical research program and its studies.
